My name is Shona, and the path that ultimately led me to coaching has taken me from a council estate in Norwich to building businesses, founding an NGO in West Africa, buying a small farm, and ultimately building the life I desired for me and my family despite obstacles and challenges along the way.
I grew up in Norwich, UK, on an estate in the mid-eighties. My early years were shaped by the warmth, wisdom and strong work ethic of my grandparents. School quickly became both my sanctuary and my opportunity. Through dedication and a love of learning, I earned a scholarship to a prestigious private cathedral school in Norwich, opening doors that once felt far beyond my reach.
That opportunity led me into a life of exploration and learning across cultures. I lived and worked in London and later in St. Petersburg, Russia, where I taught English and studied music at the Conservatoire. Immersing myself in new environments ignited a lifelong passion for people, languages, the power of communication and human connection.
Returning to London, I continued my studies in languages and literature, expanding my horizons further at Queen Mary College, University of London. My journey then took me to Senegal in West Africa, where I founded an NGO supporting grassroots initiatives for trafficked children. That chapter taught me invaluable lessons in leadership, resilience and compassion. Back in the UK, I channelled those experiences into building businesses of my own. I established a thriving farm education enterprise and an SME consultancy while working with local, national and international organisations.
Then, during the pandemic, my life changed completely. A series of traumatic events reshaped everything I knew. Along with the birth of my daughter came devastating loss and the sudden collapse of my business. What had once felt stable was replaced by grief, uncertainty and the enormous responsibility of rebuilding life as a mother. Through reflection, resilience and deep work, I began to rebuild, not simply returning to success, but creating something stronger and more aligned.
Today, I run two thriving businesses while raising my daughter as a lone parent by choice. I advanced training in Positive Psychology and Jungian Shadow Work (Centre of Excellence) and PG Cert in Human Rights Law, Business and Corporate Social Responsibility (Open University). True success comes from alignment; when our ambition, wellbeing and family life work together. My mission is to empower others step fully into their power, grow thriving businesses, and create lives defined by clarity, sovereignty and possibility.
